What to Wear with Your Blue Color Contact Lenses

What to Wear with Blue Colored Contacts (Circle Lenses)

When you first decide to wear color contact lenses, one of the decisions you’ll have to make is what color to choose. Once you’ve chosen the specific color of contacts to wear, you’ll have to make sure they go well not just with your hair and skin tone, but also with your overall look. This means you need to choose clothes that complement your chosen shade of contacts as well. In this article, we’ll be discussing the styling that goes well with blue contact lenses.

Why Blue?

Many people who plan to wear contacts start out wanting blue ones. Many of these people don’t even have a good reason for wanting blue contacts. They just like the color, that’s it! There are, actually, a number of good reasons for going with blue. First, blue is one of the few colors that can completely change your look without making you look weird. Second, if you have dark-colored eyes (e.g. brown), blue is the top choice to go well with your natural eye color. Third, most people want to wear contacts when they go out during the summer months and blue is one of the best colors to wear during these months.

Ideal Clothing

The style of your clothes will depend, of course, on your preference and your personal sense of fashion. There are, however, some colors that go best with blue eyes. The good news is that it’s easy enough to identify the colors that can really make your color contact lenses come to life. The first step is simply to do an online search for a color wheel and then follow these steps:

  1. Take note of where the shade of your lens is located.
  2. Note the shade directly opposite that of your lens.
  3. Note the colors closely surrounding that of your lens.
  4. Note the two colors that are equidistant from each other and from that of your lens.
  5. Choose any of the colors you noted as the central theme for your clothing.

Makeup

Other than your clothing, your makeup should also complement your chosen color contact lenses, so you don’t look like a clown. In general, other shades of blue, browns, and reddish pinks best complement blue eyes. Your makeup should therefore revolve around these color themes. If your hair is brown, then one of the best eye makeup options for you is a combination of blues and blacks. This will highlight the shade of your hair and really make your eyes stand out at the same time. If you’re a blonde, then pinks and purples may be better choices for you.

You may want to experiment a bit with color combinations to find the best outfits and makeup looks to go with your baby blues. You may even want to take your cue from some of your favorite celebrities who either have naturally blue eyes or are also wearing blue color contact lenses. You don’t have to copy their style, of course, just get some inspiration from the themes they go for. Don’t stress yourself out over this too much, though. Just enjoy the look you choose for yourself and have fun!
